Sasuke Inari Shrine Brochure - Bilingual Production
The Challenge: To design and engineer a single-source production workflow for a bilingual information brochure, maintaining layout parity between English and Japanese versions while managing the unique technical constraints of CJK (Chinese, Japanese, Korean) typography.
Single-Source Architecture: Built using a simple, organized layer framework to allow for easy language toggling and design changes (imagery, branding, or margins) across all localized versions.
Paragraph Style Hierarchy: Easy to follow universal alignment settings with adjustments to vertical leading and optical margin alignment that accounts for the increased complexity and readability of Kanji characters compared to Latin script.
Print Production Specifications: Trifold mechanical with fold compensation (interior panels adjusted by 3mm) to prevent buckling, technical slug, 3mm bleeds, and a non-printing dieline layer for vendor precision. CMYK + single spot color for accuracy on Torii gate visuals.
The Result: A press-ready, localized file system that reduces production turn-around time for additional languages and ensures consistency across international markets.
